Newspaper Article in the Deseret News

Below is an article in the newspapers here in Utah of me being the new Volleyball coach at Timpanogos High School in Orem, Utah. I was really excited when it came out. This article also came out in the Utah Daily Herald. I'm really excited to start working with the girls at Timpanogos. I'm also excited to be a part of the Timpanogos coaching staff.
NEW COACH: Timpanogos High School is pleased to announce the hiring of Lisa Magalei as head volleyball coach. Coach Magalei and her husband recently moved to Utah from Southern California where she was the head girls and boys volleyball coach at Bell High School for 10 years. Lisa Magalei's girls teams were California Eastern League champions in 2005, 2007 and 2008 and her boys teams were league champions in 2003, 2005, 2007 and 2008. Lisa Magalei played volleyball at Cal State University, Dominguez Hill from 1993 to 1996.
"We are thrilled to welcome Lisa to our THS coaching staff," said assistant principal Debbie Zirbes. "She brings a great deal of coaching experience and enthusiasm. Her knowledge of and love for the game of volleyball will really add a positive influence to our program. Lisa is excited to meet the girls and will shortly be announcing plans for open gym times and summer camp information."

My niece Isabella Ann Purcell was blessed today, March 8 2009. She was blessed by her father, Dicky Purcell. In the circle, were the bishopric of the Harvard Ward, my father and my husband. She was so adorably beautiful in her gorgeous white dress. Below are a few pictures we took with her and with william, her brother.

Nephew William @ his Gymnastics Class

This here is my nephew William. He is my younger brother Dicky and his wife Melissa's son. He is such a character, this kid. My husband and I went out to watch him on Wednesday, March 4th at his gymnastics class and I took a few pictures and even captured him on video. I think you'll get a kick outta watching the video of going through his obstacle course. He was funny, cause he could not wait in line for his turn and he's caught several times cutting in line infront a few of the little girls in his class. Enjoy!

William waiting to get started on his little jumping, swinging, rolling, hand stand and cutting in front of girls workout.

One of the exercise skills William had to perform during his class.

William doing a turn on the hand bars with a little help from his gymnastics coach. She was honestly thinking, "man, this kid is impatient" LOL...

Another one of his skills task he had to perform was hanging and swinging on the bar.

Going back home to CANADA

Here we are saying goodbye to Rubie and the kids as they make their way back home to Canada. I miss my sister and her two youngest, Ocean and Muloki (Ky). I was such a cry baby this day cause I couldn't stop crying until we got to my in-laws on our way home. At the end of this section is a video that spencer took while we were saying goodbye to them. Take some time to watch it...it's funny and cute.

An Evening At Chucky Cheese

This was on Monday, the 23rd of February. We decided to go to Chucky Cheese and celebrate dad's birthday there because this was where the kids wanted to go. The very first day when Ocean got into town, she asked to go to Chucky Cheese, so we decided to go there for dads birthday. The little kids and the BIG kids all had fun. Dad had a great time with his grandkids, and that's all he really wanted for his birthday was to have the grandkids there. We missed having Jaram, Teancum (Rubie's husband & son) and Jane (Roberts wife) there with us. The first few pictures were taken at one of the machines there in chucky cheese. Had fun taking those pictures with the kids.

Hanging Out At The Park

What a fun day this was with my husband, brothers, sister, sister in law, nephews and nieces. We went to Suzanne park in the city of Walnut and had a picnic. The kids really enjoyed themelves playing on the playground and running all over the place. As the kids played we sat, talked and reminised about our younger days back in junior high and high school. We had a fun time talking about Rubie's wannabe gangster days in junior high. She was a sneaky one that one. We had a great time this day! Fun, Fun, Fun!!!

I thought I'd be one of the kids and get on the slide...LOL, my husband had a good laugh watching me slide down that slide.

Ky looking down at me when I went down the slide...he's saying, "I can't believe aunty made it down that slide"...LOL

William looking to see if I'm getting on the slide again...yup, got on it two more times.

Robert, Rubie, Muloki (Ky) and Ocean pause to take a pix before we left the park.
